Hasbro Celebrating Family Game Night on Wednesday

The game makers are Hasbro know that juggling family life, entertainment and school isn't easy. So it's calling for families to shut off the TV, get the family gathered and play a game fir Nation Family Game Night. Coordinated with Turn Off Week, a movement that encourages more face-to-face time between parents and their kids.

Hasbro recommends any of its popular games including Monopoly Family Game Night Championship Edition, Connect 4X4, Clue: Secrets & Spies Edition and Rubik's 3D. And since many of Hasbro's games are under $20, they're good for even the most frugal of family budgets.

"Family game night invites families everywhere to turn off the outside world for a short time and create memories together," Belisa Anzalotti, Director of U.S. Marketing for Family Game Night at Hasbro Games. "Hasbro has established National Family Game Night to designate one evening where American families are encouraged to play games and share in learning and laughter."

Hasbro also has some tips on making the most of your night:
1. Schedule it!: It doesn't matter which night of the week you choose - any night will do! Just be sure to make it a priority to keep the appointment, the night will be one to remember!
2. Involve everyone in the planning: Involve the whole family in the planning process, and for variety, rotate responsibilities during each family game night.
3. Game suggestions: Pick age-appropriate games for family members to allow everyone to participate.
4. Fun food "pairings": A special family game night menu will make everyone look forward to the festivities.
5. Create a tradition: Whether it's the way that teams are selected, or a 30-minute bedtime extension, establishing a family tradition will create even more excitement around game play.
